The Shaman's Journey | Beginning Journeying Workshop (Late Winter 2025 | Online)

The path of the shaman - although well over 100,000 years old, and the first spiritual practice known to humankind - is still vitally relevant today.

Through what is perhaps the shaman's most important ceremony - the shamanic journey - you can safely enter an expanded state of awareness, and travel into the unseen realms in order to access spiritual knowledge, guidance, and healing - thus reclaiming your spiritual freedom.

In this paradigm-shifting workshop, originated by world-renowned psychotherapist and shamanic teacher Sandra Ingerman, MA, you will experience firsthand the power of fundamental shamanic techniques for bringing help and healing for yourself and others.

Together, we will explore:

- The history and nature of shamanism, and why we in the West can ethically and effectively practice it,

- How the shaman safely expands their consciousness using only rhythmic sound, the spirit worlds that they travel to, and the beings that they meet there,

- Journeying to meet your own power animal and spirit teacher - incredible forces who counsel, heal, and wonderfully support you and others,

- Core aspects of the shamanic approach to sleeping dreams - and asking a Master or Mistress of Dreams to interpret a dream of yours,

- How to interpret, and trust, what you receive and experience in your journeys,

- Ways of phrasing your questions to the spirits so as to obtain relevant guidance,

- The basics of doing shamanic divination - getting accurate and inspiring answers to questions - for others,

- Forming (or finding) a supportive and powerful journey circle, in-person or online,

- How well-trained shamans view and treat illness, and the four major causes of illness that shamans perceive,

- The spirit boat healing ceremony - done to restore power to one spirit-chosen member of our circle,

- Practice giving and receiving power animal retrieval healing, thus returning a guiding and healing spirit for another,

- And much more.

Each of us deserves the right to access our own sources of invaluable spiritual aid. And stepping onto the shaman's path does not require you to be a shaman - you can utilize these timeless and results-based practices to enrich your own life with personal direction and support, simply be introduced to the art of shamanism, begin your training in becoming a professional shamanic practitioner, or refresh your long-held shamanic knowledge and practice the methods taught in a heart-centered community of like-minded people for personal revitalization and expansion. In this initiatory training, we will reclaim our spiritual freedom and empower ourselves, by experiencing the powerfully guiding, healing, and genuinely life-changing practice of the shaman’s journey.

This beginning journeying workshop (or its equivalent) is a prerequisite for advanced shamanic training, such as the Extraction and Soul Retrieval healing trainings.

Dates and Times: February 21 and 28, then March 7 and 14, 2025 | 6-9pm ET each session 

Please note that this training will not be recorded. One make-up session is available free-of-charge for each student, should they need to miss a session. Additional make-up sessions can be arranged if more than one session needs to be missed.

Location: Live online via Zoom.

What to Bring: An audio- and video-enabled device to attend sessions on, something to cover your eyes with, a drum and/or rattle (if you have one), and a writing utensil and notebook. Optional items include a candle or incense to help create sacred space, headphones (for a potentially-enhanced listening experience), and any sacred items that you wish to bring. Please attend each session from a comfortable place in which you are unlikely to be disturbed.
